Donate towards a legacy Ukulele collection in memory of Linda Perron

Richmond, BC – This fall, join RPL and community members who represent ukulele-loving older adults in creating a legacy Ukulele Lending Library Collection for Richmond residents to borrow and enjoy. The collection is being created in memory of Linda Perron, who was well-known throughout Richmond for her dedication to family and friends, commitment to volunteerism and passion for grassroots music-making.

“Our group has experienced the many benefits of music and are devoted to creating new opportunities to share this with others,” says Donna Wilson, Ukulele Legacy Project Leader. “With the passing of our beloved member and friend Linda, we want to contribute to a legacy project that will celebrate Linda’s playful presence and her commitment to inspire others on their own musical journey.”

Starting September 22, visit https://www.yourlibrary.ca/ukuleledonation/ to donate to create a Ukulele Lending Library Collection for Richmond. All proceeds will be used to buy new ukuleles and accessories that RPL card holders can borrow. In addition to being fun, user-friendly and easy-to-learn, ukuleles are light and portable, making them ideal for everyone from beginners to seasoned musicians. While ukuleles vary greatly in cost, a new ukulele and accessories ideal for a lending library will cost approximately $300, so every donation counts and no donation is too small! Donations over $10 will receive a tax receipt and will also be recognized in the library’s 2021 Annual Report.
